We Have Made Some Updates, Here Is What’s New!
The Helpers just got easier to use with new profile and search features designed to help you build your best charity listing.
South Africa (22 January 2026) – As The Helpers continues to grow, so does the way people use it. More organisations are joining, more people are searching for help, and more connections are being made every day.
So we’ve made a few updates. Not flashy ones. Useful ones. The kind that makes things easier, clearer and more human.
Here’s what’s new.
If your organisation works in more than one province, you can now list all the provinces you operate in on your profile. This means someone searching for help in Gauteng, the Western Cape or KwaZulu-Natal can find you without guessing or scrolling past. It also means your work is represented more accurately, especially if you’re supporting communities across provincial lines.
We’ve also added the option to include your organisation’s YouTube profile. If you share videos, stories, impact updates or educational content, this gives people another way to understand your work and connect with what you do. Sometimes a video says what words can’t, and now there’s space for that too.
Searching has also become more interactive. You can now search for organisations directly by name, making it quicker and easier for people who already know who they’re looking for. This is especially helpful for returning users, donors following up or people who’ve been referred to a specific organisation and just want to find it fast.
And because a growing directory needs better navigation, listings can now be sorted alphabetically. It’s a small change, but it makes browsing simpler, more familiar and less overwhelming, especially as The Helpers continues to expand.
These updates were made with one thing in mind: connection. Helping people find the right support. Helping organisations be seen for the work they’re doing. And making the platform easier to use for everyone.
If you already have a profile on The Helpers, take a moment to log in and update your details. Add your provinces. Link your YouTube channel. Make sure your information reflects the full picture of what you do.
And if you’re new here, welcome. The Helpers is built to grow with you.
Because when help is easier to find, it travels further.
And when tools work properly, people can focus on what matters most.
The Helpers is a growing space built on connection, care and the belief that help should never be hard to find. It exists to link people who need support with organisations doing the work, and to guide those who want to help towards causes that matter most to them.
This platform is proudly powered by Good Things Guy, a community that has spent the last decade sharing stories of hope, resilience and the everyday heroes quietly making South Africa a better place.
The Helpers is sponsored by Druff Interactive, whose support and belief helped turn a much-needed idea into a platform designed to genuinely make a difference.
If you have questions, suggestions, organisations to recommend or simply want to get in touch, you’re always welcome to reach the team at admin@thehelpers.co.za.
