About
The Zoe Project was established in 2000 by Tracey Aitken. We have been operating from the Retreat Maternity and Obstetrics Unit for the past 25 years. Over the past few years, we have extended our services to Hanover Park Midwives and Obstetrics Unit, Mowbray Maternity Hospital, Mitchells Plain MOU and Ladismith in the Little Karoo. We are also doing Antenatal classes in Hout Bay and Lotus River Clinic, as well as in Harare, Zimbabwe.
Overall, our objectives are to empower individuals to make informed decisions for themselves with regard to pregnancy crisis situations, through counselling, information, educational programmes, networking with other related organisations, feeding schemes and clothing distributions. We also aim to empower women and youth regarding sexual activity, human rights and individual identity, so they become secure and valuable assets within the community.
We offer the following services and programmes:
- Trained Doulas/ Birthing Companions
- Neonatal and High-Risk Infant Care
- Counselling
- Antenatal Education
- Providing Mom & baby packs to moms and babies in need.
- The Princess & Prince Project (Grade 8 students)
