Hero in my Hood

We develop fun educational material for children. Topics covered include animal welfare/care, plastic pollution and bullying. We have story activity books, colouring books, posters and brochures. Most Humane education materials have been translated into at least 4 SA languages including English, Afrikaans, isiXhosa, isiZulu, Sesotho, Tsvenda, Sepedi and Setswana (one even in Spanish). Our humane education materials are used by many animal rescue originations across SA, some internationally. We are a team of 2 women, neither taking a salary from Hero in my Hood. All proceeds from sales go into printing and translating of materials. We print in bulk so that the cost of the materials is kept low. This means that they are affordable to as many people as possible. Much of our work can be purchased online with a license to print up to 1000 copies. However, it is often cheaper to buy the already printed work from directly us. Organisations get books sponsored and purchase from us - 50% off for orders of over 30 books. We also run sponsorship drives to get books to organsations. We have an extensive collection of activities available on our website - free download page. We take on commissioned work, with a few copyright models, depending on budget constraints. All materials are vetted by experts before being released or printed. We are update our work when the need arises. Hero is a registered company (Wilbo Holdings Pty Ltd) trading as Hero in my Hood and operating as a social enterprise (not for profit).
