Give a Child a Family Africa

Give a Child a Family Africa (GCF) is a child protection organisation and is committed to ensuring that children grow up in secure families. Our work focuses on preventing family breakdown before children are removed from their homes, strengthening vulnerable families through early intervention, and providing high-quality foster care and statutory child protection services when alternative care is required. We work closely with children, caregivers, and communities to address the social, emotional, and practical challenges that place children at risk. In 2023, GCF intentionally closed its Child and Youth Care Centre to shift away from institutional care and to focus fully on family-based solutions. This strategic transition allows us to reach more children, support families earlier, and create sustainable, long-term outcomes for children within their own communities. Our mission is to protect children, preserve families, and restore hope by responding with care, integrity, and professional excellence. Guided by the belief that children belong in secure families, we work every day to ensure that vulnerable children are protected, nurtured, and given the opportunity to thrive. Through the support of our partners and donors, we continue to build stronger families and safer futures for children across the communities we serve.
