About
Diski Nine9 is a youth-led, community-based organisation based in Johannesburg, South Africa, dedicated to empowering children and young people in underserved communities through sport, education support, and life-skills development. We were established to respond to the growing challenges faced by young people, including limited access to safe recreational spaces, academic support, unemployment, crime, and substance abuse.
At the centre of our work is the belief that sport is more than a game—it is a powerful tool for building discipline, confidence, teamwork, leadership, and resilience. Diski Nine9 provides structured soccer and netball training programmes, seasonal tournaments, and community events that encourage regular physical activity and promote healthy lifestyles. These programmes create safe and positive spaces where young people can develop their talents while staying engaged in constructive activities after school and on weekends.
In addition to sport, we strengthen academic development through tutorial lessons, mentorship, and career guidance. In partnership with institutions such as the University of Johannesburg, we support learners with exam preparation, homework assistance, and exposure to future opportunities in education and employment.
Diski Nine9 is committed to inclusion and equal opportunities, ensuring that girls and boys can participate freely and safely. Our impact has been recognised through the Gauteng Premier’s Excellence Awards and the Futballing Girls Award for Community Project of the Year. Through our integrated approach, Diski Nine9 continues to build healthier, more educated, and empowered young leaders who can transform their communities.
