Daybreak House for Vulnerable Babies began with a simple conviction: every baby, no matter the circumstances of their arrival into the world, deserves a safe place and someone who shows up for them.
We are a registered Place of Safety in Bailey's Muckleneuk, Pretoria, caring for abandoned, orphaned, and at-risk babies from birth while they await placement with a foster family or caregiver. Our small, dedicated team provides round-the-clock care, including feeding, medical attention, developmental support, and the kind of daily presence that helps tiny humans grow and settle.
We are a project of the Grové Schoombee Foundation NPC, founded in 2022 by a group of people who wanted to make sure that donor generosity reaches children who genuinely need it. The Foundation handles all fundraising and operational support so that the Daybreak House team can stay focused on the babies.
Our home runs on the generosity of a growing community: individuals who give monthly, companies that come alongside us, and volunteers who bring their hands and their hearts. The babies who come to us do not stay forever, and that is the point. We hold them, care for them, and cheer them on as they move into the next chapter of their lives.
If you are looking for a cause to invest in, we would be glad to tell you more.
