About
Pug Rescue SA was established in 2008. On average we care for 195 rescues on any given day. We rescue Pugs in need throughout South Africa.
In 2013 we launched our Thanda Inja Project where we take veterinary care to Daveyton every two weeks. We also run 2 to 3 sterilisation campaigns annually for low income earners at Pug Rescue SA, where we have a SAVC registered clinic.
Albeit we are Pug Rescue SA, we do have honourary Pugs in our care which includes 5 cats.
We pride ourselves in the high standard of care our rescues receive. They are served 2 nutritious meals a day, they have playtime every day and have immediate access to veterinary care.
We also have an Animal Health Technician (AHT) and 2 Animal Welfare Assistants (AWA) completing their training as AHT employed.
Pug Rescue SA is a compliant animal rescue organisation. We conduct AGM annually where our audited financials are presented. Pug Rescue SA is registered with the Information Officer.
Sadly the average age of the rescues in our care is 10 years of age with some being 16 years old. A large part of our offering is a retirement home for our rescues. We do offer adoptions albeit our adoption process is very strict.
Any support for Pug Rescue SA is greatly appreciated.
