CONSTITUTION & MANDATE
Kitty Kazz Kitten Rescue proudly opened our doors in May 2021. We are a temporary home to 100+ cats and kittens. We understand the dire need for more shelters and a safe haven for unwanted cats and kittens.
Kitty Kazz Rescue rehabilitate and rehomes domestic cats and kittens that have been abandoned, neglected, abused, and strays that are lost or can’t find their way, as well as pregnant or feeding queens and abandoned neonates needing to be bottle-fed.
With the local economic downturn, we understand the desperation of some families who fall on hard times. Sadly, people are losing their jobs, downsizing, leaving the country, or simply cannot afford to keep their cats. We assist where we can, leaving the families with dignity by not judging or condemning them for surrendering their cats, but giving them peace of mind by ensuring that their beloved cats will be loved, cared for, and placed in the purrfect homes to suit their needs.
Kitty Kazz test every single cat that enters our doors for felv/fiv. We vaccinate, deworm, microchip and spay/neuter every intake. We refuse to be a part of the ongoing crisis in the drastic rise of the number of unwanted and unnecessary litters of kittens.
We feel that the more we educate people on the importance of sterilising their cats, we can create awareness amongst them as to the rising numbers of cats and kittens that are euthanised every day because irresponsible pet owners do not spay or neuter their cats.
In South Africa alone, hundreds of thousands of cats are euthanised every year because there are not nearly enough homes or facilities to house these majestic creatures. That number does not include the number of cats that die on the streets from starvation, virus or neglect.
It’s our job to work together and alongside other shelters to try and make an impact on these shocking numbers.
