Founded in 1997, HospiVision is a registered non-profit organisation that provides holistic pastoral-spiritual care, counselling, and support to patients, families, and healthcare workers in government hospitals across Gauteng and the Western Cape.

Our Mission

We provide a holistic approach to pastoral-spiritual care and counselling for the sick, the vulnerable and the disadvantaged, their families and those who care for them. Ownership by the community, church, family, and individuals involved, is encouraged. We promote a culture of lifelong learning and the provision of the highest quality, most cost-effective accredited education, and training.

Our Offices

  • Steve Biko Academic Hospital (Pretoria)
  • Tshwane District Hospital (Pretoria)

  • Vredenburg Provincial Hospital (West Coast)

Our Impact in 2025:

  • 45,605 people supported
  • 4,343 meals served through our soup kitchen

  • 43 psychology volunteers invited to master's programme interviews, 10 accepted

Beyond Hospital Care:

At our De La Porte Oasis centre in Pretoria, we run skills development programmes that equip vulnerable community members for a better future. We also partner with Tshwane District Hospital Mortuary to ensure dignified burials for unclaimed individuals.

Training the Next Generation:

In partnership with the University of Pretoria, we offer training in spiritual care and counselling. We're also launching South Africa's first SAQA-registered Hospital Chaplaincy Programme (NQF Level 5), funded by the John Templeton Foundation. Since 2009, we have supported more than 201,000 people across South Africa.
