About
Our objectives encompass a range of critical services and initiatives aimed at supporting individuals affected by stroke. We are committed to offering an information and support service tailored to their needs, alongside initiatives promoting health, independence, and overall well-being. Through community-based rehabilitation programs, we empower stroke survivors on their path to recovery.
In our pursuit of stroke prevention, we prioritise increasing public awareness about stroke, its causes, and prevention methods, while also providing accessible, free preventative testing. We advocate for and promote healthy lifestyles as a fundamental aspect of stroke prevention. Additionally, our focus extends to training and skills development, offering comprehensive programs for volunteers, caregivers, community workers, and even stroke survivors themselves to provide effective support within their communities. We also prioritise training for health professionals, alongside providing skills development opportunities for staff and assistants involved in stroke care. Furthermore, we actively advocate for the rights of persons with disabilities and collaborate with health services and organisations to enhance medical and rehabilitation services for stroke survivors.
Finally, we contribute to stroke research efforts, supporting endeavours from various institutions that can yield benefits for our beneficiaries within the HSSG community.
