Helderberg Animal Rescue Team is a registered NPO. PBO.

A group of normal everyday people with jobs and families who take in puppies, kittens and often their mums too from all over the Western Cape especially the smaller towns that lack shelters and funds to find suitable homes for these perfect furbabies. HART is a FOSTER based rescue; this means all animals in our care spend the duration of their stay in a foster home. We host regular adoption days where you can come and meet them all. We do not often take in adult dogs and cats due to a lack of foster homes that are able to accommodate them but will happily share them on all our platforms to help them find furever homes.

Our dedicated team of volunteers also spends many Saturday’s in poorer communities where our primary aim is to provide support and guidance to the pet owners in the area. We go into communities and provide food, bowls, leads, collars, toys, blankets, kennels, education, deworming, dipping and primary medical care. Our Goals is to sterilise and vaccinate as many animals in these communities as we can while assisting their owners with as much funding and donations as we can. We only which there was more we could do. At least 25% of the dogs we encounter are chained up daily while their owners are at work, the sad reality is that we cannot take them all in.
