About
Being a One Welfare organisation, means that we focus on the wellbeing of the people and their animals. We teach animal welfare to children who attend our dog school classes with their own dogs, as well as through our many other animal welfare programmes. Alongside our weekly dog school classes, we also hold a primary veterinary clinic as well as a pop-up shop, which is open to the whole community.
Once a month, we hold a free sterilisation clinic as well as monthly outreach clinics, where we treat animals free of charge. Every week, our staff conduct home visits where they check on the living conditions of the animals at home and ensure that the 5 freedoms are being adhered to. Education is given to the adults at home so that they whole family is being educated on basic animal welfare.
Our Social Welfare programme is run by our Social Worker, who assists families in various ways, such as:
Food assistance
Counselling
Referrals
Assist with obtaining school clothes
Workshops for children and adults
We also run a Recovery Programme for drug and alcohol addicts. This programme is run by a counsellor who holds weekly sessions to assist people with addiction issues.
Our mission is to improve the lives of the township dogs as well as their families.  We do this through education rather than penalising them for their shortcomings.  Our aim is to teach compassion, kindness and empathy to all animal owners. We believe in being proactive rather than being reactive.
