Friends of Ferals is a pro-life, non-profit organisation and rehoming shelter, which focuses on the plight of feral, unwanted and abandoned cats in and around Centurion. Our main objective is our SAFER initiative for cats; Sterilisation, Awareness, Feeding programmes, Education and Rehabilitation and Rehoming.
We do not remove or relocate feral cats. Instead, we follow a humane and sustainable approach known as TNR (Trap–Neuter–Return), to make sure that the colony doesn’t get any bigger. We encourage businesses, shopping centres, housing complexes, factories, and industrial areas to embrace and manage their working ferals. With consistent shelter and food, a stable, sterilised colony will:
- Keep vermin populations under control,
- Deter new cats from moving into the area, and
- Remain unobtrusive and non-reproductive.
We currently have over 140 cats at shelter, and along with our long-term resident cats, we have many cats and kittens up for adoption.
