Our purpose is to give deaf people across Southern Africa equal opportunities and the chance to live a full, independent life. We do this by supporting access to hearing through cochlear implants and by making a meaningful difference in deaf education.
Committed to eliminating financial barriers, our mission is to raise sufficient funds to support cochlear implantation for individuals of all ages and to provide school bursaries for underprivileged deaf children, enabling access to mainstream, inclusive education. We believe that every deaf child deserves the opportunity to develop spoken language and participate fully in society.
Through early childhood intervention, increased awareness of hearing loss, and advocacy for the life-changing benefits of cochlear implants, we work to improve long-term educational, social, and life outcomes for the deaf community. Financial circumstances should never prevent access to hearing, communication, and independence.
Cochlear implant technology is costly, with devices ranging from R250,000 to R300,000, excluding hospital, surgical, programming, and rehabilitation expenses. Limited medical aid coverage means that many families cannot afford this life-changing solution without support.
Through donations, grants, and sponsorships, we can give the lasting gift of hearing- opening doors to communication, independence, and a fair chance at life.
Hearing gives life.
