Mooi River & District SPCA

The Mooi River & District Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (South Africa) is a registered non-profit organisation (004-121 NPO) and public benefit organisation (PBO 130000567), an incorporated association not for gain and a member of the National Council of SPCAs. We rescue and assist abused and neglected domestic, farm and wild animals. We promote responsible pet ownership, provide a shelter for strays, and assist with veterinary services for pets of underprivileged people when possible. We receive no State funding and are reliant on our Community donations for operating costs, which include vehicles, veterinary costs, salaries, food and supplies. The list is every growing. Even as a small organisation, costs can run between R50 000 and R70 000 a month, especially as we cover a vast area.
