Connecting Generosity. Empowering Communities.

At The Robin Hood Foundation, our mission is simple yet powerful: to create sustainable change in disadvantaged communities. With the support of individuals, schools, and corporate partners, we deliver projects that restore dignity, bring relief, and open pathways to a brighter future.

Bridging the Gap Between Generosity and Need

We provide a trusted, transparent platform that connects donors directly to under-resourced communities. Through strategic partnerships, hands-on volunteers, and local community knowledge, we ensure every contribution makes a meaningful and measurable impact.

Our Values: Accountability and Compassion

  • Accountability – donations are carefully managed and delivered directly to beneficiaries.
  • Compassion – every project is rooted in care, dignity, and respect.
  • Empowerment – not charity, but dignity, hope, and opportunity.

Our Story

Founded in 2005 by Cindy Norcott, what began as donating pre-loved baby items to mothers in need has grown into a network of projects impacting thousands of lives every year. From supporting Gogos raising orphaned grandchildren to building crèches and uplifting children and elders, The Robin Hood Foundation has become a symbol of hope, dignity, and community.

Our Projects

We run a range of targeted initiatives to meet urgent needs and create long-term impact:
  • Love the Babies – hampers of baby essentials handed directly to new mothers in state hospitals.
  • Gogo Bags – food and essentials for grandmothers raising orphaned children.
  • Child-Headed Households & HOPE Breakfasts – relief, support, and dignity for orphaned children caring for siblings.
  • Bless a Granny & Grandpa – personalised Christmas gifts and celebrations for over 2,500 elderly residents each year.
  • Mahala Markets – free shopping experiences for 250+ gogos and umkhulus in need.
  • Sarmie Army – volunteers making 1,600+ sandwiches every fortnight for hungry schoolchildren.
  • Love of Maths – small-group tutoring to restore confidence and improve school results.
  • Crèche Builds – four fully equipped crèches built in rural KZN, providing safe education and sustainable income for women.
  • Celebration of Life Party – a joyful carnival day for children with disabilities.
  • Animal Care & Anti-Cruelty – support for shelters, sterilisation drives, and animal welfare initiatives.
