About
According to the World Health Organization, the number of people worldwide aged 60 and older is expected to double by 2050, presenting significant social and community challenges for countries across the globe.
Growing older is a privilege and a natural part of life; however, it can also introduce new challenges and uncertainties that require thoughtful support.
The Hilton Buddies initiative was established in 2021 in partnership with the Hilton Police. It is a free programme open to Hilton residents aged 65 and over, designed to support seniors while offering meaningful opportunities to remain engaged and give back to their community. We believe this stage of life should be rich, purposeful, and well supported.
Hilton is a caring community, and the volunteers of Hilton Buddies are committed to safeguarding the safety and well-being of our senior residents. Through regular check-ins and one-on-one connections, volunteers build trusted relationships with elderly residents, providing reassurance and promoting both physical and emotional well-being.
Since its inception shortly after the COVID-19 pandemic, Hilton Buddies has also created a welcoming platform for seniors to socialise, stay mentally and physically active, and maintain strong community connections.
The seniors of Hilton fundraise themselves to support any functions or events they would like to participate in. Local businesses and residents support this intiative.
As the global population continues to age, the need for community-based initiatives to support older adults is increasingly evident. Hilton Buddies aims to help meet this need by strengthening local support networks and fostering a culture of care and inclusion.
