About
In June 2014, Kerry Hoffman spent a day sharing soup and sandwiches with people living on the street. This relaxed social gathering – and the regular monthly social events that followed for the next five years, helped us understand the complexity of homelessness and the inadequacies of the existing interventions. The early years cemented Souper Troopers in the social capital of the streets with our ethos of dignity, love and respect and taught us that each person on the street had their own story and needed individualised support to move forward.
Fast forward to 11years later, At our Humanity Hub, we provide a holistic range of services tailored to each individual’s journey, addressing both immediate needs and long-term personal transformation. Our Mission is to restore dignity, uplift, and up-skill people living on the streets of Cape Town, We do this by - Supporting people to claim their basic human needs; Providing holistic comprehensive psychosocial services through our Humanity Hub; Creating opportunities to earn an income and become independent members of society; Building connections between homeless and homefull communities to shift perceptions and inspire change.
